First one week on Majorca with three other guys from our team Nordic Eco Vallentuna Cycling team. Not the best weather but fair enough to ride 4-6h/day.
As I imagined, my body didn’t last long. Already after day 2 and a total of 12h on the bike my left knee started screaming. “You are overreacting” I said to it. “This is fun!” But my knee didn’t like it and the rest of me was forced to take a rest day the following day.
I got approximately 25 h on the bike those 7 days I was on the training camp. My goal was 30. It’s not disappointing that I didn’t reach it but it would have been nice to.
I am now in Oudenaarde, Belgium. Training for the Ronde van Vlaanderen Sportive next saturday (april 2nd). I’ve been here for almost a week now and the hours on the bike are embarassingly few. The problem is – the knee.
The weather is great. I can’t complain. About 15-17 degrees, sometimes sunny, sometimes not.
With two rest days done, I look forward to take an easy spin tomorrow. No climbs and no cobbles, that’s my rules.
I really like it here in Belgium. Everything is calm, silent. Laid back.
A lot of cyclists on the roads all the time. If you don’t want to ride alone you don’t need to. I do ride alone.
Now it’s time for dinner.
